Keep Calm and Carry On?
 |
This has become a very popular poster. Designed for use during the Second World War it has found a resonance for our modern age. I am struck by the quiet resolve that it urges upon its viewers. It’s terribly British or perhaps more correctly, was terribly British. For much social change has affected our conduct as a People and even though many of us might aspire to that wartime simplicity and steadfastness; the reality is very different indeed. Inspired by this idea I thought it would be fun to produce some modern equivalents and will post them over the next few days. See what you think and if you’ve any ideas of your own for posters, let me know and I’ll make them up if I can. |
